November 1, 2024 Job ID: 23212-D

AbCellera is breaking the barriers of conventional drug development to propel antibody-based medicines from target to clinic. We are a team of scientists, engineers, creatives, and business professionals who believe that advancing science enhances lives. We have developed technologies to unlock high-value drug targets, including antibody-drug conjugates and T-cell engagers for cancer, and complex transmembrane proteins for indications such as metabolic and endocrine conditions, pain, and autoimmunity.

We are seeking an experienced and exceptional individual for the role of Principal Scientist – Pharmacokinetics, someone who has a passion for understanding how models can predict therapeutic responses to human disease. You will have the opportunity to help build out our pharm-tox capabilities so we can move programs faster and with less risk to the clinic. You will be responsible for pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling and human dose projections, supporting both discovery and development teams.

How you might spend your days:

  • Designing and executing PK data packages tailored for individual programs
  • Predicting and verifying appropriate dosing regimens to demonstrate antibody PK/PD relationships across a range of drug targets and disease areas
  • Overseeing pharmacokinetics studies to support antibody design and assessment
  • Collaborating with teams across the company to generate data and interpret them
  • Training and mentoring more junior scientists
  • Evaluating new technology and testing new models to better predict human illness
  • Reporting findings to our teams and partners to support data-driven decision making

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have a proven track record of building PK datasets to support successful drug development programs, from early discovery and into later stages
  • You are an expert in designing PK studies and conducting PK/PD data analysis, using WinNonlin or other similar software
  • You have a PhD in Biology, Pharmacology, or related discipline with 10+ years of industry experience; if you have a MSc and 15+ years of related industry experience, you will also be considered
  • You enjoy the teamwork that comes with working on complicated biological questions and building data sets that help to predict the success of therapies
  • You are good at communicating scientific and/or technical concepts with an emphasis on application
  • You are genuinely curious, with an interest in discussing innovative ideas in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment
  • You have excellent documentation and organizational skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You have experience authoring sections of regulatory submissions and are well-versed in scientific and regulatory standards for bioanalysis of biologics (desirable)

What we offer:

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $141,600 - $177,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.

You will have a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits. Scientific and technical mentorship is a priority. And you’ll find we prioritize team building and connections across AbCellera.
