We are looking for a motivated and talented individual currently pursuing a degree in Facilities, Operations Management, or other relevant field to join our Facilities Operations and Logistics teams as a co-op or intern for an 8 month term, starting in May 2025. Your role will assist in the coordination of our maintenance program, which includes the upkeep of our work order management system and liaising with vendors. You will support the Logistics team with materials handling and inventory management, while also assisting our lab-based teams with glassware cleaning and sterilization.

While in this on-site position, based in beautiful Vancouver, you will receive guidance and supervision from experienced team members within the Facilities Operations, Logistics, and Safety teams. The internship is designed to offer exposure to real-world projects and the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of antibody-based medicines from target to clinic within Canada.

How you might spend your days

  • Creating, scheduling, assigning, and closing Facilities work orders in Nuvolo
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to assist in updating documentation including SOPs, manuals, and work instructions  
  • Liaising with vendors and service providers to schedule work, obtain quotes, and follow up on reports
  • Generating reports and analyzing data to measure KPIs
  • Participating in daily inspections and walk-throughs of our facilities to identify and/or address maintenance issues
  • Assisting the Logistics team with shipping and receiving goods, materials handling, and inventory management
  • Performing proper washing and sterilization of laboratory glassware
  • Supporting with laboratory garments and chemical and hazardous waste management in collaboration with the Safety team

We'd love to hear from you if

  • You have used or are familiar with an IWMS or CMMS platform
  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma program in Facilities, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, or other related field
  • You take pride in being a self-motivated person, fast learner, team player, and creative problem solver
  • You have excellent communication and documentation skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • You have strong organizational and customer service skills and can adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • You have the ability to lift up to 40lbs

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $3,300 - $3,700 per month, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, we offer a number of ways to support AbCellerites in maximizing their work-life synergy.
