Each of us cares about someone who will need medicines. That’s why our vision is to repeatedly beat the odds to deliver breakthrough medicines to patients that need them. We pursue truth and scientific rigour and have the courage to work at the edge of the unknown.

We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with demonstrated hands-on experience using mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques to join our team. You will focus on the characterization of antibodies and/or other therapeutic proteins, while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, interacting with a diverse team of scientists.

How you might spend your days

  • Developing, designing, and qualifying LC-MS methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis of antibodies, other proteins, and/or small molecules
  • Performing detailed protein structural interrogation, including sequence confirmation, sequence variant identification, disulfide mapping, or chemical modifications in support of batch comparison, forced degradation and developability analysis
  • Developing and performing analytical assays for protein characterization such as ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), light scattering (SEC-MALS, DLS), capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS), or imaged capillary isoelectric focusing (icIEF)
  • Training and mentoring members of our team
  • Liaising with partners and communicating project updates and deliverables
  • Developing and implementing standard operating procedures
  • Organizing, supporting, and collaborating with team members to meet project deliverables and timelines

We'd love to hear from you if

  • You have hands-on experience with protein-focused high resolution mass spectrometry, including intact mass analysis, peptide mapping, and PTM analysis, glycan mapping, disulfide mapping, cross-linking MS, HDX-MS, or other related methods would be an asset
  • You have hands on experience with small molecule mass spectrometry, including absolute quantitation, structural elucidation, or other ADC-related small molecule MS techniques
  • You are able to implement methods for high throughput sample preparation and automated data analysis, and have experience in method qualifications and drafting SOPs
  • You have a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, or a have a MSc with 5+ years of relevant wet lab experience in an academic or industry setting
  • You have experience with, or an interest in working with, other analytical techniques such as UHPLC, CE-SDS, SEC-MALLS, DLS, or icIEF
  • You think critically, are curious, and want to explore new technologies and opportunities to improve antibody characterization workflows and processes
  • You are a creative problem solver and fast learner who believes in team work to tackle the most challenging scientific problems
  • You have great interpersonal skills, and thrive in a collaborative working environment as a member of cross-functional team
  • You have excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills,  impeccable attention to detail, and an ability to analyse and interpret large datasets

About AbCellera

Creating medicines is the most important work we can do.

We are a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing antibody-based medicines in the areas of endocrinology, women’s health, immunology, and oncology. We have built a platform for advancing antibody drug programs from target to clinic, and we are using it to build our internal pipeline.

Today, our pipeline includes two drug candidates in clinical development, two preclinical development candidates (DCs) in Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling activities, and more than 20 active discovery programs across multiple modalities and indications.

We believe that when tenacious people share a vision and work together, they can truly have a positive impact. That’s why we hire for character and intelligence, not just for CVs or experience.

We look for people with drive and energy. People we trust. People who need to know their days are being well spent. That their work really matters. In the end, our success will be measured by the impact of our medicines.
